Apaltagua Envero Gran Reserva Carmenère 2017 VINTAGES

This is an impressive carmenere with the more usual peppercorn character cast across dark licorice, peppermint, dark plums and cherries. Full-bodied with ripe and round tannins, a good layering of acidity and a medium-chewy finish. Drink in 2022. Score - 92. (jamessuckling.com, April 5, 2019)
