The 2017 Chardonnay Chamise, aged 16 months in 50% new French oak, very slowly offers up baked yellow apples, pie crust, toast, a waft of baking spices and notes of dried hay, chamomile, honey and nuts. The palate is much more generous at this early stage, offering loads of ripe, honey-laced fruits and spicy touches, with seamlessly woven freshness and a long finish. This merits another year or two in bottle. Drink date: 2020-2025. Score - 93. (Erin Brooks, robertparker.com, Feb. 6, 2020)
