Speaks volumes from the very first impression, which begins with the vision of its deep blackish purple, and the perception of a wall of scents. Layer upon layer of fabulously ripe blackberry fruit pulp are enriched by the abundance of varietal character and that of oak. The wine expresses itself subtly and softly, with balance and harmony ensuring that the ratio of smoothness to power - two virtues of sovereign excellence - is perfect. The soft and vanilla-like roundness of this wine is excellent, powerful, dense, creamy thanks to the extraction, such that its chorus of fruity/spicy voices always rises high in terms of aroma, clarity, and pristine vanilla. A great wine, truly among the best Italian reds of the year. Score - 97. (lucamaroni.com, Sept. 27, 2019)
