Unlike some of its Italian Pinot Grigio counterparts, which can be rather subtle, Alsatian Pinot Gris tends to flaunt its fragrance and flavour. This one is spicy and smoky, with suggestions of apricot, honey and gingerbread. Savour it with roast pork or baeckeoffe (casserole featuring potatoes, onions, beef, mutton, pork, white wine and juniper berries).[The Concours International de Lyon did not include a tasting note.] Score - Gold.
