Selección del Viticultor comes from old vineyards planted on the Hartwig property in Santa Cruz in 1980. The wine spent a year in barrels and then another nine months in cement eggs. This cabernet has the hallmark of the house wines - the softness and balance, along with the sweet ripe fruits characteristic of a warm area like Colchagua. In an excellent year with moderate temperatures, this cabernet also seems to have more nerve and sharper, more piercing tannins that maintain tension in a faithful representative of the valley's cabernets. Score - 93. (Patricio Tapia, guiadescorchados.cl, 2021)
