The 1959 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru is my pick of the older vintages. It has a delightful bouquet of dried rose petals and tomato vine layered over the bright red cherry aromas that are very defined. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and acidity, not a powerful Clos Vougeot but very harmonious and fresh. The finish is dainty but does not short-change you on fruit intensity. This is everything I would want from a 1959 Burgundy. Score - 94. (robertparker.com, April 29, 2014)
