Made from select fruit from mature vines on their Estate vineyard. I love the Pyrenees for being able to capture such intensity of fruit balanced by cool climate form and foundations. This is all right here in the bottle. Blackberry bush, brambly blueberries and wild raspberries. Nettle, crushed gum leaf and paperbark meets with cumin seeds and black clay. The density of acute fruit is not overshadowed by the char of oak, which manifests in clove, dried bark and woody spices. Tannins perch upright and ensure you know this wine will age gracefully but also makes for a serious drink today. A great example of another region growing and making Shiraz only they know how. It's inky, fresh and one smart little drink. Serve alongside a nice pink lamb backstrap. Drink: 2023-2030. Score - 95. (Shanteh Wale, winepilot.com, June 2023)
