This sports a typically lifted and attention grabbing Wakefield nose of blackcurrant, violet and mint with toasty/lightly smoky oak and spice. It is medium-full bodied, nervy and intense with firm acidity, hot alcohol and gritty tannin. The flavours pour through, hitting excellent length, with a touch of licorice on the finish. As an observation, it actually behaves more like a cabernet sauvignon than a shiraz. Best 2023 to 2030. Tasted June 2022. Score - 90. (David Lawrason, winealign.com)
