Plenty of personality and great value here. After an initially sweet-fruited nose with plum, blackberry, cranberry, vanilla and a hint of smoky iodine, comes a savoury, textural palate. This is quite a rich wine with more than a hint of earth and forest floor complexity. There's a lot more going on than just fruity charm and its palate really shines with excellent balance and structure, settling happily into the glass with additional time and air. Dry-farmed and organic, Clos Henri is owned by Sancerre's Bourgeois family. Drinking window: 2024-2030. Score - 94. (Emma Jenkins, MW, decanter.com, Aug. 18, 2024)
