Sourcing has clearly made a difference here, Barossa Shiraz offering a degree more elegance and structure in comparison to its sibling, the Grand Barossa Cabernet. In fact, a little more refined all round. There's blackberry, black cherry, plum fruits and eastern spices to the fore, with a strong sense of sweetness nicely countered to the wine's earthiness. Fills the mouth but is well structured and, overall, elegant, thanks in part to the smooth, fine-knit tannins. Everything is in its place. Runs long and is so, so good for the price. Drink by: 2024-2030. Score - 93. (Jeni Port, winepilot.com, Oct. 2024)
