Laura's Red is as classic an Ontario Wine as a Trius' Red... It's a wine with a lot of history of good wine making, good vintages behind it, collectability and longevity; and now that it is under screwcap, even more so - it has also been around for 20+ years. The 2017 is one of the best in years because it mixes complexity and elegance: lots of cassis, blackberry, and black cherry in the fruit department. Then we get subtle spice, coffee/mocha, black licorice and tobacco... There's a decade ahead of this wine and its peak is still, at least, five years away. Classic wine from an unlikely vintage. Score - 4.5 Stars (out of 5). (michaelpinkuswinereview.com, Sept. 22, 2020)
