This wine is made from Calabrese di Montenuovo, which was discovered in the early 2000s and proven to be one of the parent grapes of the great Italian Sangiovese, along with Ciliegiolo. Much like its offspring, this wine will show strong notes of sour cherry and rosemary on the palate, with a hint of leather.[Gambero Rosso Italian Wines did not include a tasting note.] Score - 2 Glasses (out of 3).
