Refosco is a late-ripening variety indigenous to northeast Italy, a late-ripener often making wines with more structure and tannin [than] other reds of the region. And this certainly delivers that profile. It is not hugely tannic, but it is firm and also shows medium to full body. What I like most is the lifted nose of blueberry/black cherry with vaguely woodsy, spicy aromas - almost cabernet franc like. The length is very good to excellent. Best now to 2023. Score - 90.
