Still something of a bargain given its pedigree and track record, Mendel's Semillón almostsingle-handedly resurrected the variety's fortunes in Argentina. Sourced from a ParajeAltamira block planted in 1942, it's a subtly oaked delight, all citrus, aniseed and beeswaxwith a stony freshness and subtle wood spices. Drink date: 2024-2032. Score - 95.
