Blended with 8% Merlot and 1% Syrah, this Cabernet spent 15 months in (20% new) French oak. On the nose, shades of black - cherry, berry, olive, and pepper - swirl together with vanilla. Cherry lozenge and more pepper form the core of the medium-bodied palate, joined midway by pops of oak and dark chocolate-covered espresso bean. Tannic grip notwithstanding, the finish is velvet-lined. Score - 91. (tastingpanelmag.com, May/June 2023)
